While Stealthfox is a heavily modified Firefox-based browser, it strives to fully imitate the original Firefox browser. Most custom browsers can be identified as such. In Stealthfox, the information that allows such identification is minimal. Every month we are reducing the amount of such data in order to make Stealthfox truly indistinguishable from Firefox.
Unlike other solutions based on browser plugins and add-ons, which have to spoof original browser fingerprints by overwriting them during web page loading, Stealthfox browser doesn’t need to spoof anything. It already has the desired fingerprint upon launch. This increases the stability of the solution while rendering aggressive fingerprinting technologies useless.
Content Security Policy (or CSP) is a new technology, which was meant to protect users from XSS attacks. Unfortunately, due to its potential of preventing page modification in a browser, it quickly became exploited by websites utilizing aggressive browser fingerprinting. Luckily, Stealthfox is immune to CSP exploits and will preserve your real fingerprint hidden even on such websites.
